Covering not just Broomall but also much of Haverford Township and Marple Township, the Broomall District Court is part of the Delaware County Court System. It handles crimes such as certain felonies, landlord-tenant disputes, small claims, traffic courts, DUIs and misdemeanor crimes. Also handling preliminary hearings, it generally hears all cases not heard at the County or Federal level.
The Hon. John P. Capuzzi is the presiding justice of this local magisterial court, located at 796 Park Way, Broomall PA 19008. It is situated on a main road, with several smaller local access residential streets on either side, making it highly accessible.
The District Court of Broomall of Chester County is numbered #32-1-24 and is part of Delaware County.
Available by telephone at 610-338-2250 during regular operating hours, the court is open Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30 with hearings sometimes running past close.
The Delaware County Court finds its seat a 201 West Front Street, Media PA 19063. This is also the seat of the District Attorney’s Office, but not the public defender, whose office is located next door in the Sweeny Building.
Part of the 32nd Judicial District for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Delaware County Court system employs 22 full time judges at the Media Courthouse, including the president judge of the Court of Common Pleas; the Hon. Joseph P. Cronin, Jr. In addition to these 22 judges, there are 34 magisterial district courts under the county’s jurisdiction.
Found in the Sweeny Building at 313 West Front Street, Media PA 19063, the Office of the Public Defender is headed by Douglas C. Roger Jr. He is assisted by a team of attorneys including Francis L.
