It encompasses not only Frazer, but also the Borough of Malvern, Willistown and East Goshen Townships and the wards of East Whiteland.
This district court handles offenses at a minor or lower level, often hearing preliminary trials. The bulk of their cases are DUI or refusal related, civil cases, small claims or other trials where the damages amount to less than $8,500. Landlord-tenant disputes also are handled at the magisterial court locations, along with certain felonies and most misdemeanor cases, with cases such as drug possession, underage drinking and simple assault charges being amongst the most commonly handled.
At the Frazer District Court of Chester County, presided over by the Hon. Chester F. Darlington, the most common types of hearings are small claims suits and traffic violations.
