The Montgomery County Court is part of a much larger judicial system that incorporates several areas and counties throughout the United States. In this case, it is a component of the 38th Judicial District of Pennsylvania. This court, at its county seat, employs 23 full time justices and is lead by the senior judge of the Court of Common Pleas, the Hon. Willliam T. Nicholas.

In addition to the justices and trials heard at this location, it is also the seat of the Offices of the Public Defender, District Attorney, and County Clerk of Courts.

For Montgomery County, the Clerk of Courts, in charge of all dockets and arraignments, is Ann Thornburg, assisted by the deputy clerks Alice J Hendrickson and Linda M Sulock.

The public defender is Keir Bradford-Grey, who is not only the second woman to hold the position but also the first African-American. She is available by telephone at (610) 278-3295. Her offices as well as those of the other attorneys serving in the public defense office are found in the second floor of the courthouse.
